EXHUMED‘s sixth full-length sees them tread into ambitious new territory with their first concept album: a musical melodrama in thirteen parts based on shocking true events. Death Revenge takes place in the late 1820s in Edinburgh, Scotland and tells the macabre tale of a series of brutal murders where the victims’ cadavers were sold to anatomists, amid a grisly underground trade of grave-robbery. Recorded with producer Jarrett Pritchard (Goatwhore, Eternal, Gruesome), Death Revenge takes the band’s signature gore-drenched, death metal mayhem to theatrical and ghastly new depths. Cover illustration is by Orion Landau with interior illustrations by Lucas Ruggieri (lucasriggieriillustration.com).

“…a fun, worthwhile listen, especially with Halloween just around the corner. I’m especially impressed with the historical inspiration, which gives it some more weight than the usual slasher fest.” — Metal Injection

“…a magnum opus that sees a much more ambitious EXHUMED.” — Paste Magazine

“…serious killer classic headbanging shit…” — Team Rock

“The album is filled with blood-curdling growls and powerful drumming, which is to be expected from Matt Harvey and company, but it still feels fresh and compelling. And while EXHUMED have always had a theatrical aspect to them, Death Revenge has brought out a more pensive side of the band. It was an ambitious undertaking and it paid off, proving just how much psychotic creativity they still have to offer. — Exclaim!

“…an absolute blast of a record. Six studio albums into their career, and EXHUMED continue to show their commitment and talent for creating fun and pulse racing death metal. With an intriguing concept and incredibly fast and technical instrumentation that creates emotion, EXHUMED present a terrific work that will get folks moshing through graveyards and partying with the dead.” — New Noise

Nightmare Future By Expulsion

Something new has boiled down at Relapse Records from Repulsion’s Master Mind, Matt Olivo. Along comes a crew of musician’s that will assail your mind and you won’t be able to take cover. Be ready to have your whole existence stimulated without your consent, because EXPULSION won’t ask for your permission!

Expulsion is fused with Matt Olivo, Matt Harvey, Danny Walker and Menno Verbaten, such a deadly combination with such old school grind/death metal legacies. With their Nightmare Future album in debut for the last week, you’re bound to want to seal your head on tight before you dive into this creative madness. Keep in mind that Matt Harvey’s shredding vocals, are chaos itself in telling these gory stories. Envision it all, you won’t be able to escape.

Total Human Genocide opens with buzzed bass slaps fallowed by unrelenting guitar riffs and hammering drum beats, making you raise a hell of an eyebrow, catching you off guard, this is where the battle of human destruction begins.

Have you started your daily worship yet? Prepare your Altar of Slaughter for you’ll need to protect yourself from the deaths you’ll cause. Entering with a deadly grunt followed by an explosion of riffed schemes, you’d want to pick up your club ax or machete to begin the slaughter of the day. Perhaps your first kill was to unmask a wary friend. Mask of Fear may offer a gory truth, and your friend can’t hide forever.

Riffs that leave you wanting to scratch off the visions you have prophesied, skimmed punk drum beats that intertwine with grind scraped loops, Nightmare Future will make you want to gauge your eyes out. In Funeral Bells, guitar riffs break and conquer, you wonder if you’re listening to the same song after a minute. Your escape is useless, this is the place where you will meet your doom but there is no place for you in the depths of hell anyway. But don’t fret, the bells will sing for you after a mind crushing instrumental chaos.

Expulsion CDCov

You are off in the country side you come across a place you can call home for the night… but confined in this dark place is where perhaps you’ll meet your death.  A maniac that suffers from Compulsions doesn’t know what it’s doing until it sees its knife in its own hand. Doesn’t remember a thing after nearly ending your life and where else do you end up but on a hospital bed…….. Comatose… you are barely hanging on…. When will you slip away? ….. You can’t just listen, Expulsion will MAKE you visualize every gory detail that’s slapped in your face throughout this album.

I think I just attended my own funeral and watched my deadly descend to hell. Honestly I can’t even tell you more. You need to catch yourself a ride with these fellas, they’ll take you along the most brutal story lines. Need I say that Old school 80’s grind metal has made its damned f***n return? Expulsion will leave you sickened within 15 minutes.  I don’t know about you all, but I have certainly made my rounds across a self-made mosh pit in my living room.  Here’s to some more regurgitation from EXPULSION in the future, Hail the Darkness!

“The tune aims for a pure high. Speed hits nostril. Nerves hit overload. Volume hits maximum. As it should be.” – BrooklynVegan/Invisible Oranges on “Comatose”

Extreme metal act EXPULSION — which features members of Repulsion, Exhumed, Phobia, Intronaut, Gruesome, and numerous others within its ranks – today shares a new track off from their forthcoming debut album Nightmare Future due out July 14th via Relapse Records.

Hear closing track “Comatose” via a shared premiere through BrooklynVegan and Invisible Oranges HERE and HERE respectively.

Comments guitarist Matt Olivo, “You’re living an undead existence connected to machines to keep you alive. Death is imminent, but when? Minutes? Days? Years? Decades? ‘Comatose’ tells this cautionary tale with vivid morbidity and sheer ultra-violence.”

Adds the respected blogs, “The band sound a whole lot like Motörhead writing a grindcore LP. The bass is thick, the riffs come first, and each brief piece of the record seems catchy as well as mosh-inducing,” furthering of “Comatose,” “The tune aims for a pure high. Speed hits nostril. Nerves hit overload. Volume hits maximum. As it should be.”

Produced by Matt Olivo, mixed by Toxic Holocaust’s Joel Grind, and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Mayhem, Faith No More, Halford), Nightmare Future will drop on July 14th on CD, LP, and digital formats via Relapse Records. Physical preorders and bundles are available at Relapse.com HERE and digital downloads can be preordered via Bandcamp at THIS LOCATION.

Spawned from the cerebral mind of grind legend Matt Olivo (Repulsion), EXPULSION combines grind, punk, and crust into a caustic musical vomit guaranteed to stack the corpses high. Olivo’s partner-in-grind, Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome) was recruited over beers in a sweaty Los Angeles apartment to bring his classic brand of oratory assault. The additions of veterans – drummer Danny Walker (Intronaut, Exhumed, Phobia) and bassist Menno Verbaten (Lightning Swords Of Death) – complete the fit-to-burn outfit. Expect nothing but the best of throat-shredding vocals, relentless blast beats, buzzsaw riffs, and raw bass tones. EXPULSION will leave you horrified with their vile brand of classic, ’80s sickness!

“The production is raw yet meaty. The guitars are thick and the drums are like mini gunshots. Even during the chaotic moments of the songs, you can easily identify the riff patterns which makes this album enjoyable right from the first spin. EXPULSION hits the mark with their debut Nightmare Future. They deliver what they promise and don’t disappoint even a bit despite the mountain of expectations the listener may have considering each member’s legacy.” – Metal Wani

“…high speed, take-no-prisoners bangers that give Iron Reagan or Lock Up a fair fight in the over the top intensity department.” – Metal Riot

EXPULSION:
Matt Harvey – Vocals
Matt Olivo – Guitar
Danny Walker – Drums
Menno Verbaten – Bass
